TVM Management Co Ltd trading as Thames Visitor Moorings (TVM) takes the processing of personal data very seriously and strives to adhere to the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Data Security

We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. We use ISO certified cloud services and applications. We maintain appropriate administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect Personal Data against accidental or unlawful destruction, accidental loss, unauthorised alteration, unauthorised disclosure or access, misuse, and any other unlawful form of processing of the Personal Data in our possession. This includes, for example, firewalls, password protection and other access and authentication controls. We use TLS technology to encrypt data during transmission through public internet and ISO certified cloud services and applications.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. We cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or store on the Service, and you do so at your own risk. We also cannot guarantee that such information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards. If we learn of a security systems breach, we will inform you of the occurrence of the breach in accordance with applicable law.

Payment Data

TVM does not store or collect any customer credit card details or data on its servers. TVM use the third party applications provided by PayPal and World Pay to process our customer transactions. The customer card processing details are encrypted during transmissions and securely processed by PayPal and World Pay on their websites on our behalf before the transaction status and customer are then returned to the TVM website

Data Retention

We only retain the Personal Data collected from a User for as long as the User's account is active or otherwise for a limited period of time as long as we need it to fulfill the purposes for which we have initially collected it, unless otherwise required by law. We will only retain and use information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and honour our agreements.

Your Data

Your personal data is obtained on the basis that we have your explicit consent to process it. This information may have been provided via our website or over the phone, however obtained, we make the following assurances:

  1. Your personal data will not be shared with a third party for marketing or any other purpose. The only exception is that it may sometimes be necessary to share some data with the mooring Landowner who will also adhere to the GDPR
  2. We hold only the personal data which you have supplied in the registration process
  3. This personal data is necessary for us to register a boat at a mooring
  4. Information on patterns of mooring for research and information purposes will never include personal data
  5. We will retain data required for our own accounting purposes in line with current HMRC retention requirements
  6. Should you wish your data to be erased please advise us and this will be actioned although accounting records will be held as per 6 above
  7. With your consent, we may contact you by email with general information of relevance to river users or by email or telephone for account queries or in emergency situations.

Service Providers

We work with third party service providers who provide website, application development, hosting, maintenance, and other services for us. These third parties may have access to, or process Personal Data or Client Data as part of providing those services for us. We limit the information provided to these service providers to that which is reasonably necessary for them to perform their functions, and our contracts with them require them to maintain the confidentiality of such information

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

"Cookies" are text-only pieces of information that a website transfers to an individual's hard drive or other website-browsing equipment for record-keeping purposes. TVM use Google Analytics to track users of this website to understand from where they originate and how they use the website. We do this so that we can make improvements to our service. To opt out of this tracking please see the Google Analytics section or our Cookie Policy. This technology will drop a cookie on your device and will also track your IP Address which is used to track you as one unique user. Our website will also record your IP address when registering for our service to verify your account, consent and to prove you are not a know spam bot.
